If you’re in the market I suggest you put the Mazda CX-5 on your list.
Other than that Mike and I both really enjoyed this car, and will consider it when we’re ready to look for an SUV type of vehicle. My cons were the navigation system, and this could be user error, but it wasn’t easy for me to program where I was going and frustrated me. Overall I really liked this car and how spacious and safe we felt in it. You never know when you’re going to find a fun furniture flip that you need to throw into the car.
The trunk was roomy enough to fit luggage and shopping bags and I also like how easy it was to put down the seats if we need to take some bigger. There was also enough space that the kids could use the center console. This has always been a challenge when driving so I liked knowing the car was looking out for my family.Īt this point in my life car seats are still very relevant, and we all know how frustrating it can be to install them in an unfamiliar car, but I found this one to be pretty easy, and very well lit in back seat. If there’s a car in that blind spot it would give a bloop to alert you that’s it’s not a good idea to change lanes. It also had a feature if you veering off the road or changing lanes. This made me more cautious while driving and I liked knowing the car was looking out for me. What I really liked was the warning I would receive if I was backing out a driveway and the curb was too close, and I would be alerted on the screen. So they put a lot of thought into keeping your family as safe as possible. This particular car and model was also rated as an IIHS Top Safety Pick for 2016. All of this was also on the steering wheel, but I liked using the center section more. The dial really made it easy to use and wasn’t a distraction. It also had a great center console that did take a few times to figure out, but was really easy to use and adjust the radio. There were times I even wondered if the car was still on! Of course it has what I consider standard with the key-less entry, seat warmers and backup camera. I also drove it around town and to pick up things big and small from the stores because I wanted to put it to the test. I took it on a road trip with the kids, and then pulled out their car seats and had it for a girls weekend away. I drove the Mazda CX-5 2016 for a little over a week. There’s also the idea of safety that’s always on my mind while driving, and when I was able to test out the Mazda CX-5 I found it to be one thinking and anticipating all of the things I want and need in a car. We need to be able to fit a lot and mix things up in our car. Versatility in a car is important to my family.
